I really should have looked at this a lot sooner than this and I
apologise for not doing so.
Hynek! Your script blows big black donkey dick and can't be used as
is. It touches files that it shouldn't like the ChangeLog files (easy
to overcome by copying the XEmacs versions over once migrate.pl is
finished). But the biggest problem is that it shouldn't touch
_anything_ that is inside a comment, and it shouldn't touch _any_
email address or www or ftp addresses etc.
There are other things too, which are moderately easy to fix up after
the event.
I think what I'll do for 22.1.0 is just change what absolutely has to
be changed (things like the version string, the name of the binary,
location of `user-init-directory' and things like that).
Then in later versions we can all go de-XEmacserising it.
I'm also open to suggestions.
