Hi,
This message is taken from c.e.x, I'm moving this to the SXEmacs devel
list. If for no other reason than for me to keep track ;-P

I have done a slight research on the OOo end of this. It is possible
to control OOo through it's API (Java, C++ and now even Python) and
presumably display the stuff in an Emacs window with some trickery.
What is needed is, IMO, to make a lisp binding for UNO (OOs
interprocess communication stuff) and then write a lisp application
(for SXEmacs) to control OOo. That way I am dreaming of using the OOo
capabilities with the SXEmacs UI and OOo to render stuff on-screen.
If you don't understand, I'm afraid I'll need to gimp my dream.
Unfortunately, the first I can start to work on this is probably not
until April, if even that early. There are also some preliminaries to
implement for SXEmacs too, I believe.
This is, AFAICT, on the TODO list.
I hope this helps a bit, and you'll monitor the project at least,
Johann
P.S. http://www.sxemacs.org/ for a bit of info, if you like.
