Rewriting INSTALL

I've been attempting to rewrite INSTALL for the last few days, and I
have to admit that I'm really struggling. :-)

I mean, seriously, what more does it need apart from...

  $ ./configure [options]
  $ make
  $ make check
  $ make install

I don't see the point in describing all the configure options because
you can find that info from ./configure --help.
